Aleksander Gudalo is a Berlin artist. He studied painting at the Rhein-Sieg-Kunstakademie, philosophy and computer science at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. From this broad context, he develops his artistic works.
Since his early youth, he has been analyzing and studying the classical techniques and the illusionist language of the old masters, to transform them into the present. He has improved the classic technique of glazing and studied life drawing over the years and added computer assisted scene design and algorithmic techniques in his modern visual language.
The focus of his „immersive realism“ lies in the metaphorical representation of the behavior of the contemporary human who questions the absurdity of human life itself through his ritualized action. The actual diagnosis of the process of individuation in rational materialistic society is explored by the exposition of repetitive action patterns. The atmospheric density of the subjects designed by minimization and the mystery of the stereotyped protagonists question not only the being of the determinant actor but also the perceptible and interpretable of the action itself.
